Al O.2023-10-30Following a dismal day at the CDMX F1, we walked into Alambique Grill. The food the service was excellent. Turns out, the owner John was our host server and owns the grill. He selected a 2019 Mayor de Castilla tempranillo blend which was excellent. We selected the steak and ftied potatoes and the grilled chicken with rice and beans. He combines a tortilla bathed in a dark mole sauce folded beautifully in the center of the plate, surrounded with guacamole, fries with a lime/salt drizzle and chips. The rice had peas like my mother used to make. John shared his years of experience as a restaurateur. If you are the least bit shy to the menu, John will put you at ease. Prices are perfectly fair. The table water he serves is purified. We drank it with no I'll effect. I will certainly be back. Owner/ chef came out with recommendations and had drinks and shared his story. Super happy I found this place and had this experience.
